Bulk Email Guidelines

Whilst we do allow low-volume mailing lists on our servers, we do ask that users adhere to the following guidelines when sending out mailing lists or other bulk mailings.

only low volume mailing lists are permitted
all subscribers must be opted in, preferably doubt opt-in
every email must contain clear unsubscription instructions
mailings must not be sent all at once, batch sending must be used
no more than 200 emails per hour
must be sent outside of normal UK working hours, preferably between the hours of midnight and 6AM
if a script can be configured to return bounces to the user, this must be done. If we receive an unacceptable number of bounces, we may disable your script or request that you change to one that is more configurable
scripts found to be using too many resources, whether because of poor coding or large mailings or something else, may be disabled without prior notice if we deem it necessary to the stability of the server
